I’m disappointed at having to cancel the January Evening for Educators event! So many teachers had signed up to attend, and I was so excited to share the Artful Assessment website with everyone, but as I watch the snow fly, I know it was the right choice. Now our Evening for Educators on Wednesday, February 25th will be a double program and extra fun! Chief Curator Tom Denenberg will first introduce us to Backstage Pass: Rock & Roll Photography. If you have not seen the show yet, please visit the Museum this month! The show is so vibrant and dynamic—it will blast away the winter blues. You don’t want to miss it! After Tom’s lecture, I will debut the Artful Assessment website and discuss its special features and classroom applications. It will be a full agenda with lots of great art and teacher resources. See you there!

Welcome to the PMA’s Artful Assessment blog! The Artful Assessment website will grow over the next few months as I continue to add more works of art and integrated lessons to the site. I hope this blog becomes a resource for teachers to share ideas about arts integration, arts assessment, and art education in general. The conversation will not be limited to just the Artful Assessment site, but will address all aspects of teacher programs and Education Department projects at the Museum. Please check back often to learn about exciting Museum events, new programs for teachers and students, and to share your experiences and ideas. I look forward to hearing from you!
